What We Mean By Custom

What "Custom" Actually Means

Three kinds of websites — only one of them is actually yours

Most small business websites fall into one of three buckets. Understanding which you're buying changes everything.

Template sites (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy)

Drag-and-drop, dozens of layouts to pick from. Fast to launch, slow to load, impossible to migrate, limited SEO, branded like 10,000 other sites. You're renting, not owning.

Page-builder sites (Elementor, Divi, WordPress themes)

Better than templates but bloated — dozens of plugins, slow page speeds, security vulnerabilities, constant breakage. Most "WordPress developers" are really theme-assembly technicians. You own the code but inherit a maintenance nightmare.

Custom-coded sites (what we build)

Every line of code written for your business. Fast by default, no plugin bloat, no theme lock-in, pages load in under a second, Core Web Vitals pass, and the stack you're on today is the stack you're on in 10 years — no forced migrations, no vendor pivots.

Our Design Process

Our Process

How a custom site actually gets built

No stock templates. No "pick one of three layouts." Every design decision traces back to a business goal.

01

Discovery & strategy

Week 1. We learn your business, customers, competition, goals, and the specific outcomes your site needs to drive — leads, bookings, orders, credibility. No design happens until we agree on what "success" looks like.

02

Design concepts

Week 2. First round of design — homepage, one interior page, mobile view. We iterate until the look, feel, and structure are right. Unlimited revisions during this phase.

03

Build & content

Weeks 3–6. Hand-coded build with mobile-first CSS, semantic HTML, schema markup, and optimized images. We write (or polish) your copy if you need it. You see the staging site the whole time.

04

Launch & optimize

Week 7–8. DNS cutover, SSL, CDN, search console setup, IndexNow + Google indexing submitted on day one, analytics wired, redirects from old URLs. Then the partnership keeps optimizing — forever.

What's Included

What's In Every Design

Custom design, done right

Mobile-first & responsive

Designed for phones first, desktops second. Your site works — and looks right — on every screen size from 320px to 4K.

Core Web Vitals optimized

LCP under 2.5s, CLS under 0.1, INP under 200ms. We don't hit "good enough" — we pass every Google ranking metric.

SEO-ready from day one

Semantic markup, Open Graph, Twitter cards, schema.org structured data, XML sitemap, robots.txt, canonical URLs, submitted to Google and IndexNow the day you launch.

Accessibility (WCAG)

Proper alt text, keyboard navigation, color contrast, screen-reader support. It's the right thing to do and it's the law for most US businesses.

CDN + SSL + security

Cloudflare CDN for global speed, full HTTPS on every page, security headers, firewall rules, and managed hosting included — not a line-item surcharge.

Analytics & conversion tracking

Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, conversion events wired up on launch day. You see what's working from hour one.

Common Questions

FAQ

Questions we get every week

How long does a custom website design take?

Typical timeline is 4–8 weeks from kickoff to launch. Faster usually means template shortcuts that cost you more later. Week 1 is strategy, week 2 is design concepts, weeks 3–6 are the build, and weeks 7–8 are launch prep and optimization.

Do you use WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or custom code?

Whichever fits your business. Most of our sites are modern custom code (Laravel + Vue) on our own managed infrastructure. WordPress when a client specifically needs it. We don't build on Wix, Squarespace, or GoDaddy site builders — they lock you in and hurt SEO long-term.

How much does a custom website cost?

Our partnership plans start at $199/month and include design, build, hosting, updates, security, and ongoing support. No separate design fee, no annual renewal surprise. See pricing for the three tiers.

Will my website be mobile-friendly and fast?

Yes. Every site is mobile-first, passes Core Web Vitals, serves images through a CDN, and is tested on real phones before launch. Speed and mobile usability are Google ranking factors — not optional.

What happens to my site if I ever leave the partnership?

Your content, domain, and brand are yours from day one. The design files are licensed to you during the 12-month term; ownership transfers at the end of the term — or any time you pay out the remaining balance — with a clean export. No proprietary platform, no transfer fees, no lock-in. Most clients don't leave anyway — the partnership keeps the site improving instead of decaying.

Do you build e-commerce websites?

Yes. Custom e-commerce integrated with Stripe, PayPal, Square, or Shopify depending on the fit. Restaurants get online ordering and reservation integrations. Service businesses get booking + payment flows. See our work for examples.

Do you only serve Orlando?

No — most clients are in Orlando and Central Florida (Orlando, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Kissimmee), but we partner with businesses across the US. Local presence helps when you want in-person meetings, but it's not required.
